2025 marks 50 years since our owner, Jeff Clark, first paddled out and surfed Mavericks. He was a 17-year-old senior at Half Moon Bay High School at the time, and this legendary pioneer of Mavericks pioneer then surfed it alone for the next 15 years -- no safety vest, no drones, no rescue team, no coach, no roaring crowds. As a third generation carpenter, Jeff was already building his own surfboards, but now focused on big wave boards and has spent a lifetime mastering his craft from personal experience and skill.
